EMG에서 나오는 THE PRO SERIES중 하나인 이 픽업세트는 ToTo 의 기타리스트인 Steve Lukather가 사용하는 픽업세트이다.

You've heard his name as part of the Grammy award winning pop group Toto, and you may have seen him on tour with Los Lobotomys, but Steve Luthaker is a major force in the Los Angeles studio scene. After thousands of sessions, you've certainly heard his amazing leads on many hit records, movies, and more. This is one of the most challenging of careers, requiring players to plug in and play "impossible" charts with little or no practice.
Steve's body of work demonstrates his incredible speed and technique along with a chameleon-like ability to play in a multitude of styles. Doing all this requires a flexible electronics setup that's quiet enough for the most discerning studio. His choice is a highly customized EMG configuration that was previously only available on his signature Ernie Ball/Music Man "Luke" guitar.
Now, that special setup is available as the Pro Series SL20 System. It has these features:
two SLV custom single-coil active pickups
one EMG-85 humbucker
five-way selector switch

volume knob and tone controls
deluxe Black Pearl pickguard with matching black knobs
battery clip and switching output jack
The SLV pickup is the result of our long collaboration with Steve. It's unlike anything else in our line.
On the outside, it looks like a regular S or SA pickup, but underneath the cover, it has individual pole pieces, similar to the SV Vintage pickup. The coils are overwound for slightly higher output and a fatter sound.
Our SA active electronics finish off the package. The end result is a rich, thick tone from the single-coils that balance the warm tone of the EMG-85 at the bridge.
The SL20 comes pre-assembled on a Black Pearl pickguard. Your standard Strat-style body may require additional routing at the bridge pickup position to accomodate the larger humbucking pickup.
The SL20 allows for a most unique, fine tuned tone in a simple package. Whether on stage or in the studio, it delivers in the most difficult situations with uncompromising tone, noiseless performance, and rock-solid reliability. And, most important of all, it sounds "right" to Steve.
